One Pirots round, step by step

1. Set your bet. €0.20 to €100 in every part. A round starts on the smallest grid of that game.
2. Symbols drop in. Birds, gems and sometimes feature symbols land on the grid.
3. Birds collect. Each bird walks to adjacent gems of its colour and takes any feature symbol it reaches. Payouts land as they're collected.
4. The grid changes. Bombs and their equivalents open it up, and upgrades raise gem levels for the rest of the round.
5. The meter fills. Collected symbols charge the meter above the grid, and a full meter releases features.
6. Empty spaces refill. The round goes on as long as a bird can still move, then it resets.

What makes a Pirots game

A Pirots game has no paylines and, in the classic sense, no reels. Four birds sit on a grid and walk to any gem of their colour next to them, up, down, left or right. Each gem pays the moment it's collected. ELK Studios calls this CollectR.

So the question in a Pirots slot isn't whether symbols line up. It's how far the birds can get before they run out of moves. Bombs and similar features open the grid, upgrades raise gem values, and a meter above the grid releases feature symbols as it fills.

Then the parts split. The Pirots game you pick changes the feature set and the swing, not just the artwork. Pirots X breaks the pattern altogether: it pays on clusters of 5 or more, and its birds land on nests to raise a global multiplier.

Pirots RTP versions and how to check

RTP is the share of stakes a game returns over a very large number of rounds. ELK's sheets list 94.0% for the older parts. Pirots 5 changed that: it ships in versions from 87% up to 96%, and the operator's setup decides which you get.

Ten points of RTP is a lot over time. On €100 of total stakes, 96% and 87% differ by €9 on average, and you'll turn over your balance many times in a session. If a casino shows the low version, you can look elsewhere.

Why Pirots can feel rigged

Search any forum and you'll find the claim. We have no evidence for it, and there's a simpler reason the games feel that way. A hit rate near 25% means roughly three rounds in four pay nothing. Community trackers quoted by players put the base-game bonus at around one in 230 to 265 rounds, and those are small samples, so treat the number as a rough guide only.

Then there's the shape of the payouts. Much of a 94% RTP sits in rare, large results that most players never see in a session. So a typical session sits below 94%, sometimes a long way below, and that's the maths working as designed. ELK is licensed in Great Britain and Malta, which is about supervision of the supplier. It doesn't mean you should expect to win, and streamers' big hits don't tell you what your session will do.
