Pirots X at a glance
Pirots X is a spin-off, not a numbered sequel, and the X is a letter rather than a Roman ten. ELK Studios sends the four birds, the Fearful Four on the product sheet, back to their home island. Third-party listings give the Pirots X release date as 24 October 2024, and the Pirots X ELK Studios page simply marks it as live.
The game runs on Cluster Pays. You need 5 or more identical symbols touching horizontally or vertically, on a grid that starts at 5x5 and can grow to 7x7. Every cluster win leaves a Wild behind, new symbols drop in, and the sequence continues until nothing connects.
ELK's product sheet gives the core numbers: RTP 94.0%, volatility 8 of 10, hit frequency 24.0%, a 10,000x bet maximum and bet levels from €0.20 to €100. We read that sheet with the in-game paytable and rules screens. Where a detail comes only from reviews, we say so.
Grid size quoted as 5x5 and 7x7. Some listings label the game as 7 reels by 7 rows. ELK's sheet says 5x5, and the rules describe a grid that expands. We use 5x5 growing to 7x7, so the 7x7 labels describe the maximum, not the start.
Play Pirots X, step by step
- Load the game and open the menu icon at the top left for the paytable and rules.
- Check the RTP in the Info or Help screen of your version.
- Set your bet. The sheet gives €0.20 to €100.
- Press the round spin button to drop symbols onto the 5x5 grid.
- Look for 5 or more identical symbols touching by a side. They pay, vanish and leave a Wild.
- Watch for nests. A bird lands, collects its colour and the sign above the grid rises.
- Let the cascades finish, as Wilds can split and merge along the way.
- Land 3 Bonus symbols, or 1 Super Bonus plus 2 Bonus symbols, for free drops.
Clusters, cascades and leftover Wilds
A round starts with a drop onto the grid. The game looks for clusters of 5 or more identical symbols joined by a side, so diagonal contact does not count. Big symbols count as the number of positions they cover.
Winning symbols leave the grid, each cluster win leaves a Wild behind, and new symbols fall into the gaps. Another cluster repeats the process. A Wild touching several winning clusters splits, and several Wilds in one cluster merge into a Multiplier Wild, so a run of cascades tends to strengthen as it goes.
The birds work alongside this loop. They wait above the grid until a nest lands, then one flies down and collects its colour, which raises the global multiplier on the wooden sign. The grid can also expand, leaving more room for clusters to connect.

Pirots X birds and nests
Birds do not walk the grid here, and they are not how a win forms. Clusters pay; birds add value around them. All four sit at the top until a nest lands, then a random one settles on it and collects its own colour, raising the global multiplier. From the perch they can also fire bombs, feature chests and big symbol drops at random. The rules name one bird, saying Charlie may trigger a bomb on his own, but the screens we read do not say which colour he is.
Red birdThe red owl and the red gemPirate hat, small parrot on its shoulder.
Purple birdThe purple owl and the purple gemEye patch and a long gun. The bird that comes down to a nest is random.
Green birdThe green owl and the green gemBlade in a skull-buckle belt. Reviews report that it returns to the top after collecting.
Blue birdThe blue owl and the blue gemBandana. Can trigger a feature at random from its perch, like the others.
Owls, gems and feature symbols
| Symbol | Name | What it does | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Red owl Regular | Top payer: 1.00 for 5, up to 50.00 for 16 or more. Also lands as a big symbol. | A big red owl is the quickest route into the upper paytable rows. |
![]() | Purple owl Regular | 0.50 for 5, up to 25.00 for 16 or more. | It pays about half the red owl, so colour matters as much as size. |
![]() | Green owl Regular | 0.40 for 5, up to 20.00 for 16 or more. | A huge green cluster is still a real result. |
![]() | Blue owl Regular | 0.30 for 5, up to 15.00 for 16 or more. | Even the lowest owl beats the top gem at cluster size 5. |
![]() | Red gem Gem | 0.25 for 5, up to 10.00 for 16 or more. Gems have no upgrade levels here; only cluster size changes the value. | Small gem wins keep cascades moving. |
![]() | Purple gem Gem | 0.20 for 5, up to 8.00 for 16 or more. No levels. | A small cluster pays little but still leaves a Wild. |
![]() | Green gem Gem | 0.15 for 5, up to 6.00 for 16 or more. No levels. | Reviews report that collecting a low symbol adds +1 to the global multiplier. |
![]() | Blue gem Gem | 0.10 for 5, up to 4.00 for 16 or more. No levels. | Treat it as fuel for the next cascade. |
![]() | Wild (gold W) Wild | Substitutes for anything except nest, bomb, Bonus, Super Bonus and free drops symbols. Left by each cluster win. | One win raises the odds of the next. |
![]() | Multiplier Wild (W with x2) Wild | Made when Wilds in a winning cluster merge. Rules screens show x2, x4 and x5. | It applies before the global multiplier, so the two stack. |
![]() | Nest Feature | A random bird flies down, settles on it and collects its colour. | No nest means the global multiplier stays still. |
![]() | Bomb Feature | Fired by the birds. Reviews report that it clears surrounding symbols, sparing feature symbols, then forces a redrop and expands the grid. | A larger grid gives clusters more room. |
![]() | Feature chest Feature | Opened by the birds. Reviews list Wilds, nests, bombs, scatters and super scatters, plus extra free drops in bonus rounds. | One chest can start several features together. |
![]() | Bonus (gold anchor) Bonus | The game's scatter. Three trigger the free drops Bonus game. | It is the unpaid route to the persistent multiplier. |
![]() | Super Bonus (gold anchor) Super Bonus | The super scatter. One plus 2 Bonus symbols triggers the Super Bonus. | It upgrades the round to the maximum grid. |
![]() | Free drops symbol (+1 anchor) Feature | Awards extra free drops inside the bonus game. | Each extra drop gives the carried multiplier another round. |

Where the multipliers stack
Two multipliers act on a cluster, in a fixed order. ELK's sheet says all multiplying Wilds connected to a winning cluster multiply it first, and the global multiplier then applies as well.
The global multiplier starts at x1 and rises only through collection. Third-party listings give the steps: +1 per low symbol, +2 per premium symbol. The rules use x35 as artwork, and we found no stated ceiling, so do not read that figure as a limit or a target.
The rules promise persistence in one place only: between free drops in bonus mode. A value built on the first free drop still applies on the last, which is why the Bonus carries so much weight.
| Source | Value | How it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Multiplier Wild | Number of merged Wilds (as reviews report); x2, x4 and x5 on rules screens | Multiplies connected winning clusters, before the global multiplier |
| Global multiplier | From x1; +1 low symbol, +2 premium symbol (as reviews report) | Applied after Multiplier Wilds; persists between free drops in bonus mode |
| Big symbols | Up to 4x4 (as reviews report) | Not a multiplier, but covering several positions lifts a cluster into a higher paytable row |
Pirots X features explained
| Feature | Trigger | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Wild Split | A Wild connects to more than one winning cluster | It splits, awarding one Wild for each cluster. |
| Wild Merge | Several Wilds sit in one winning cluster | They merge into a Multiplier Wild. Reviews say its value equals the number of Wilds merged. |
| Nest collection | A nest symbol lands | A random bird settles on it and collects its colour, raising the global multiplier. |
| Bomb | Random, from the birds. Charlie may also trigger one on his own | Reviews describe it clearing nearby symbols, except feature symbols, then a redrop. One adds that it expands the grid towards 7x7. We found no rules screen giving the exact steps. |
| Feature chest | Random, from the birds. Guaranteed on each Super Bonus free drop | Reveals Wilds, nests, bombs, scatters or super scatters, as reviews list it, and can add free drops in a bonus round. |
| Big symbol drop | Random, from the birds | A large symbol lands in the bird's colour. Reviews say it crushes other 1x1 pay symbols and can reach 4x4. |
A Coin Game that may not exist. One review describes a Coin Game when the grid is cleared. We found nothing like it in the in-game rules, ELK's page or the product sheet, so we leave it out. It may have been carried over from another game. Check the rules screen of your version.

Free drops and the Super Bonus
ELK calls its free spins free drops. Three Bonus symbols trigger the Bonus game, on one drop or across a cascading sequence, according to some reviews. Two independent reviews give 5 free drops. The free drops symbol adds more, and the global multiplier stays in place between them.
The Super Bonus needs 1 Super Bonus symbol plus 2 Bonus symbols, and the in-game screen shows 5 free drops. It runs at the maximum grid size, 7x7, and each free drop starts with a guaranteed feature chest. Chests can bring nests, and nests bring the birds. Either round can still end low.
Pirots X Bonus vs Super Bonus
| Bonus | Super Bonus | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | Three Bonus symbols | One Super Bonus symbol plus two Bonus symbols |
| X-iter price | 100x bet | 500x bet |
| Free drops | 5, per reviews | 5, on the in-game screen |
| Grid | Not set to maximum | Maximum grid, 7x7 |
| Extra on each drop | None, though a free drops symbol can add more drops | A feature chest at the start of every free drop |
| Carried between drops | Global multiplier | Global multiplier |
How many free drops in the Bonus?. Two reviews give 5 free drops for the regular Bonus, while one listing says 3. We use 5 because two sources agree and the Super Bonus screen shows 5, but the regular count is not on the rules screens we read. Check the Bonus rules in your version.

The five X-iter modes
Pirots X has five X-iter modes. Prices come from the in-game menu at a €1 bet and match the 3x to 500x strip on the product sheet. The 5x and 25x tiles carry only icons, so those names come from reviews. We found no source showing a different RTP per mode.
Availability depends on the casino and jurisdiction, and one review notes the buy feature is not offered in the UK. Check the game lobby. Any price you pay can be lost in full.
| Mode | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Hunt | 3x bet | More than three times the chance of a bonus, says ELK |
| Big Symbol | 5x bet | A big symbol up to 4x4 on a 6x6 grid, as reviews describe it |
| Feature Release | 25x bet | A feature chest with a 7x7 grid, as reviews describe it |
| Bonus | 100x bet | One drop going straight to the Bonus game |
| Super Bonus | 500x bet | One drop into the Super Bonus at maximum grid size, with a feature release on every free drop |
Two X-iter names come from reviews. The 5x and 25x tiles in the menu carry icons without names. Reviews call them Big Symbol and Feature Release. We use those names with prices from the in-game menu, and treat the descriptions as reported, not as rules.

ELK's Pirots X page has a Play button that opens demo mode, so you can try demo Pirots X from the source. Review sites offer Pirots X free play too. Use the Pirots X slot demo to learn how Wilds split and how nests feed the sign.
Credits are not real money, nothing can be withdrawn, and demo results do not predict real-money play. The Pirots X demo slot can also differ in stake limits, RTP version and X-iter menu, so check each again in the Pirots X casino lobby you actually use.
If it will not load, the usual causes are a browser blocking third-party content, an outdated browser or a location restriction. Reload or switch browser. ELK recommends a 16:9 ratio on desktop, with 1600x900 as its reference. Some listings show mobile play, and ELK's asset pack includes portrait backgrounds.
Bet limits differ between listings. ELK's sheet gives €0.20 to €100, and some listings match it. One UK-facing listing quoted 20p to £5. Limits are set per casino and jurisdiction, so check the stake range in the lobby you use.
Pirots X RTP and volatility
The Pirots X RTP is 94.0% on ELK's product sheet, with volatility at 8 of 10. Other listings also show 94%, while one calls the volatility mid-high. To confirm the value in your version, open the Info or Help menu once the game has loaded.
RTP is a theoretical return over a huge number of rounds, so it says little about one evening. A 24.0% hit frequency implies about three drops in four pay nothing, and a session can sit far below 94% until multipliers stack. Budget for that dry stretch rather than setting a target.
Hit rate: 24%, 25% or about 25%. ELK's sheet lists a 24.0% hit frequency. Some listings give 25 with no unit, others about 25%. We use the sheet, because tracker figures are samples.
High or mid-high volatility?. Most listings call it high, ELK's sheet gives 8 of 10, and one listing says mid-high. We use high, 8 of 10, from the sheet.
Pirots X strengths and limits
What works
- Each cluster win leaves a Wild, so cascades build on themselves
- The global multiplier persists between free drops in bonus mode
- Wild Split and Wild Merge are easy to follow on screen
- The Super Bonus guarantees a feature chest on every free drop
What to watch
- A 94.0% RTP is low against the 96% many slots advertise
- At 8 of 10 volatility, long quiet stretches are normal
- Small gem clusters pay as little as 0.10x bet
- The global multiplier needs a nest and a matching colour, so it can stay flat
- X-iter availability depends on casino and jurisdiction
Pirots X reviews from players in Ireland
Not a sequel, a different game
Cluster pays instead of collecting, and the birds split and merge wilds. I came expecting Pirots 2 and got something closer to a cascade slot. Took three demo sessions to adjust.
Verified playerWild Merge is the whole thing
Two wilds pulled into one and the next cascade paid four clusters in a row. The persistent multiplier in the bonus is why I play this one over the others.
Verified playerSmall clusters pay very little
A five-gem cluster of blue at 0.10x is barely a return. You need the wilds to do the work. Still a good game, but I had to drop to the minimum bet to last an hour.
Verified playerBig Symbol at 5x is a bargain
Cheapest X-iter mode I have seen that actually changes the round. A 2x2 symbol dropping into a 7x7 grid with wilds around it is a proper setup.
Verified playerDemo matched the real version
I played the demo here first, then the real game, and the nests and chests worked exactly as described on this page. On a laptop the cascades are quick enough.
Verified playerGrid stays small too often
Bombs are rare, so most rounds finish on the 5x5 grid. When it reaches 7x7 it is excellent. Just do not expect it every session.

Pirots X and its neighbours
- Pirots X pays clusters of 5 or more adjacent symbols with cascades, while Pirots 3 runs on CollectR
- Birds in Pirots X wait above the grid and settle on nests instead of travelling across it to collect
- Value in Pirots X builds through Wilds that split and merge plus a global multiplier that persists between free drops
Our read on Pirots X
Pirots X is a real change of system. If you play Pirots X for the cluster loop, the Wild mechanics are the best part: every win leaves something behind, and Split and Merge turn that into multipliers you can follow. The persistent global multiplier gives the Bonus a clear point.
The drawbacks are plain. RTP is 94.0%, volatility is high and about three drops in four pay nothing on ELK's figures. Ratings are scattered: a small community vote scored it under 2 out of 5, while other listings show 7.8 from four ratings and 8.0 from one vote. Samples that small settle nothing, so try the demo and judge the rules yourself.
Pirots X questions answered
Pirots X is a cluster spin-off. Pirots 3 uses CollectR, with a bird travelling across the grid. Pirots X uses Cluster Pays: 5 or more adjacent identical symbols pay, then cascades follow. Its birds stay above the grid until a nest lands, then settle and collect their colour to raise a global multiplier.
It starts at x1 and rises when a bird on a nest collects its colour; reviews report +1 for a low symbol and +2 for a premium one. The rules make it persistent between free drops in bonus mode, so a value built early still applies later. That design is what gives the Bonus its weight.
It depends on what you like. The birds, colours and X-iter menu feel familiar, but clusters do the paying. Choose it if you want cascades and Wild mechanics. If you want a bird working around the grid, it will feel like another game, and the demo will show you quickly.
ELK's sheet lists 94.0% RTP and 24.0% hit frequency. Some listings show about 25%, but trackers are samples and the sheet outranks them. We found no separate RTP for any X-iter mode. Check the Info or Help menu in your version.
Yes, called free drops. Three Bonus symbols start the Bonus game, and 1 Super Bonus plus 2 Bonus symbols start the Super Bonus. Two reviews give 5 for the regular round, though one listing says 3, and the in-game screen shows 5 for the Super Bonus. The free drops symbol can add more.
The cap is 10,000x bet. The game shows €1,000,000, based on the €100 maximum bet, so at €1 the ceiling is €10,000. Treat it as a rare ceiling rather than something to plan around.
A small community vote scored it under 2 out of 5 when we checked. It rests on four votes, so the sample is very thin, and it gives no reasons. High volatility and a 94.0% RTP may frustrate some users, but that is our reading, not the voters'.
