Pirots 5 ELK at a glance
Pirots 5 is the fifth main game in ELK Studios' series and its sixth release overall. If you are asking when Pirots 5 is coming out, it already has: the wide release came on 23 July 2026, after an operator-exclusive window from June. We read the in-game rules, the paytable screens and ELK's three product sheets to write this page.
The birds return to Earth from outer space. A burnt map points them to a lost city of gold and to Captain Blackfeather, a traitor behind a temple of Egyptian traps, mummies and catacombs.
Beyond the story, the big change is the world system. Cursed Temple, The Kraken and City of Gold each hold three tokens, and all nine unlock Boss Castle. This content opened in stages after launch, so read this page as correct on 1 November 2026. The set may grow.
Which June date opened the exclusive?. You may see 11 June or 23 June 2026 quoted for the first, exclusive launch. We could not settle it, so we say June 2026 only. The 23 July 2026 wide release is the date listings agree on.
Your first round, step by step
- Load the game, open the menu, choose Rules and note the RTP line.
- Check the loaded world; one review shows a world selector at the top of the screen.
- Set your bet, €0.20 to €100. It is locked during a round.
- Press Spin, or hold it for Auto Spin.
- Watch the meter above the grid, as a full one banks a feature symbol release.
- Look at the corners: a bird collecting on its own colour enters the catacombs.
- Note any Secret Door trap, the route to the coin game.
- Count collected bonus symbols; three start five bonus drops.
- Set a budget before opening X-iter, a separate cost from your spin.
How the birds earn
Pirots 5 is a CollectR slot with no paylines. Each of the four birds is paired with one gem colour. A bird moves to an adjacent gem of its colour, up, down, left or right, or to any feature symbol, and adds the value to its own win counter.
A bird can move several times before a refill. When the birds are stuck, remaining symbols fall and new ones drop in, and the round goes on while one bird can move. Normal rounds start at gem level 1 on a 6x6 grid, which can grow to 8x8. The rules say a boulder crushes walls but do not list every way a wall falls.
The meter above the grid counts gems and wilds collected by the four birds. A full meter banks a feature symbol release, you can hold three, and they fire together when the birds are stuck, turning random gems into feature symbols.
Tokens run alongside this. One can land on any spin, pays like a 5x coin and stays saved across bet levels, rounds and game modes. Token hit frequency differs between worlds and between X-iter modes.
A 6x6 start, not 8x8. One listing's header gives 8 reels and 8 rows. The rules screen says normal rounds start at 6 rows by 6 columns and can grow to a maximum of 8 by 8, so we use that.
CollectR, not a cluster game. One listing carries a cluster tag, and you may see clusters mentioned elsewhere. ELK's sheets and the game screen say CollectR, so we treat the cluster label as an error.

Four collectors, one traitor
The birds get in each other's way. Three or more stuck side by side set off the Labyrinth, and two adjacent birds may swap through a Switcheroo. A trap can knock one off the grid until the next refill. Watch Captain Blackfeather most: a bird ending up beside him becomes a ghost, and the paytable says he can turn 1-4 birds.

Pirots 5 gems and feature symbols
| Symbol | Name | What it does | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Red gem Gem | Seven levels, 0.10x to 25x bet. Higher levels gain gold skulls. | The best colour to upgrade. |
![]() | Purple gem Gem | Seven levels, 0.10x to 15x bet. | Second best once upgraded. |
![]() | Green gem Gem | Seven levels, 0.05x to 10x bet. | Weak until upgrades land. |

![]() | Blackfeather gem Gem | Dark diamond, seven levels, 0.15x to 30x bet. | It takes the highest level of the gems it replaces. |
![]() | Gold coin Coin | Pays value times bet. The paytable shows 2x to 1000x, and the MAX WIN pot pays up to the cap. | Any bird can collect it. |
![]() | Wild Wild | Replaces any gem at its current level. | Each bird can collect the same wild once. |
![]() | Silver pyramid Feature | Upgrade: raises the collecting bird's colour 1 to 3 levels. | It lifts every gem of that colour. |
![]() | Gold pyramid Feature | Upgrade All: raises all four colours 1 to 3 levels. | No colour is left behind. |
![]() | Silver and gold eye Feature | Transform recolours one group of gems beside the bird; Super Transform does 2 or 3. | It gives a stuck bird more to collect. |
![]() | Scarab Bonus | Three collected start the bonus; one inside adds a drop. | It must be collected, not just land. |
![]() | Super scarab Super Bonus | If one of the three, the Super Bonus starts. | It adds a coin rain to each drop. |
![]() | Token Feature | Three per world, nine in all. Pays like a 5x coin. | The only progress that outlasts a round. |
Pirots 5 paytable
Times bet per gem, from the paytable screens. A collection pays the sum of its gems.
| Gem | Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 | Level 4 | Level 5 | Level 6 | Level 7 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.10x | 0.25x | 0.40x | 0.75x | 2.00x | 6.25x | 25.00x | |
| 0.10x | 0.20x | 0.30x | 0.60x | 1.60x | 5.00x | 15.00x | |
| 0.05x | 0.15x | 0.25x | 0.45x | 1.20x | 3.75x | 10.00x | |
| 0.05x | 0.10x | 0.15x | 0.30x | 0.80x | 2.50x | 7.50x | |
| 0.15x | 0.30x | 0.50x | 1.00x | 3.00x | 10.00x | 30.00x |
Blackfeather gem tops out at 30x. One review gives 20x in one section and a higher top elsewhere. The paytable screen shows 30.00x at level 7, so we use 30x.

Where the value climbs
Gem levels do the heavy lifting. Red pays 2x at level 5 and 25x at level 7, and Upgrade symbols add 1 to 3 levels at a time. Wilds pay at the current level of the gem they replace.
Coins sit apart. A coin landing on another coin in a coin rain raises its value, with no figure given. In the Cursed Temple coin game, a coin dropping on a bird doubles that bird's win counter. The rules list no running multiplier for the main grid.
| Source | Value | How it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Gem level | 0.05x to 25x | Set by colour and level |
| Upgrade / Upgrade All | +1 to +3 levels | Capped at level 7 |
| Coin | 2x to 1000x | Value times current bet |
| Coin on coin | Value rises, amount not stated | Coin rain and coin game |
| Coin on bird | x2 win counter | Cursed Temple coin game |
| MAX WIN coin | Remainder to 10,000x | Pays at once |
Traps, catacombs and three worlds
| Feature | Trigger | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Captain Blackfeather | A bird ends up adjacent to him | Turns 1-4 birds into ghosts, takes the win counter and converts their gems to Blackfeather gems, collects them, then leaves. Birds on a wild, portal or tunnel are safe. |
| Catacombs | A bird collects on a corner tile of its colour | Four coffins, with hidden spots beside them that start fights with mummies. A win leaves a feature symbol, a loss returns the bird to its corner. Win all four and coins replace the coffins. |
| Secret Door | A bird collects on or walks over its trap | Splits the 6x6 grid into four squares and rotates each 180 degrees. Cross-over floor tiles let birds cross collected positions once. If the grid is not cleared, it rotates back. |
| Cursed Temple coin game | Clearing the grid during Secret Door | 8x8 grid, 2x2 cursed treasure in the centre, a bird in each corner. 3 drops, reset by landing symbols or birds. A stuck bird beside the treasure banks its counter and rains coins. No tokens here. |
| Arrow and boulder traps | A bird touches the trap; Charlie's extra chance can also set them off | Arrows fire from the rim: a hit bird leaves and its gems change colour. If all four are hit, random gems become coins. Boulders, 2x2 to 4x4, crush gems, walls and birds. |
| Labyrinth and Switcheroo | Three or more stuck adjacent birds; two stuck adjacent birds | The Labyrinth clears random rows and columns and slides birds apart. A Switcheroo swaps two birds; a Super Switcheroo throws one to the edge or its next symbol. |
| Portals and tunnels | May appear in the walls at the start of a round or drop | Up to four. Birds teleport between them, and walls joining two portals form a tunnel that can reveal feature symbols. |
| Tokens and Boss Castle | Any spin, except the Cursed Temple coin game | Once you hold a world's three tokens it gives no more, so you must move on. All nine unlock Boss Castle permanently. We found no source describing what is inside. |
| The Kraken world | Play in that world | ELK's sheet: the golden compass cannon turns gems in its line into feature symbols, then recoils. Catacomb fights are against a land crab. One review reports harpoons at the grid edges. |
| City of Gold world | Play in that world | ELK's sheet: the Golden Book turns 1-4 birds and their gems gold, and catacomb fights are against a shaman. In the coin game the Mastermind's minions bring coin rains. |
Do tokens follow you between casinos?. The rules call token progress global and persistent across bet levels, rounds and modes. They do not mention moving between casinos or demo tokens, and no source we read does either. This is unresolved, so do not assume it, and ask your casino if it matters to you.

Pirots 5 villains and enemies
Pirots 5 has more enemies than any earlier part of the series, eight by our count. Captain Blackfeather and the mummies hold the Cursed Temple, The Kraken brings the beast and its land crabs, and City of Gold adds the Mastermind, his two minions and a shaman. Boss Castle unlocks with all nine tokens, but no source we could open names a boss inside it.

Ability: He turns the bird beside him into a ghost and takes its win counter, its gems and its currently collectable feature symbols. He has a random chance to take more birds in view, 1-4 in all. Their gems become Blackfeather gems at the highest level among the birds he took.
When: He can land in any drop and fires when a bird ends up directly beside him, up, down, left or right. A bird on a wild, on a portal or in a tunnel cannot be taken. In the bonus games he moves to a new random spot each drop until he fires or the drops run out. ELK's Kraken and City of Gold sheets do not list him as a feature.
Result: The rules describe no fight with him on the grid. He collects all Blackfeather gems and highlighted feature symbols, then leaves. Those gems pay 0.15x to 30x bet each by level. If he enters the catacombs or takes a bird there, he wins every later fight. The rules do not say when a ghost bird returns, so the game's Help screen has the rest.

Ability: He upgrades the 2x2 cursed treasure at the centre of the 8x8 grid. The upgraded treasure has a random chance to drop one extra coin rain at the start of each remaining drop.
When: He can appear in any drop of the Cursed Temple coin game. If he is on the grid when the coin game triggers, the treasure upgrades at once.
Result: The rules list no fight and no cost here. The payoff is the chance of extra coin rains, and the coin game still ends when the drops run out.

Ability: A mummy waits at a hidden position beside each of the four coffins in the catacombs. A bird that collects on that position has to fight it, and a loss cuts the bird's catacomb run short.
When: A bird enters when it collects a symbol on a catacomb corner of its own colour, and a fight starts when it collects on a hidden position. One fight can occur in each quadrant. The catacomb entry is disabled during the Secret Door feature.
Result: Win: a feature symbol is left where the mummy stood. Lose: the bird is removed and returned to its corner, and the round goes on. Win all four fights and a coin lands on every former coffin position for the bird to collect. The rules list no cash cost for a loss.

Ability: ELK's sheet calls it the mightiest of sea monsters, gripping the birds' old pirate ship, and gives it a coin game. One review reports that it hangs above the grid and can strike with tentacles or send a coin rain at any time. In the coin game, that review says, a tentacle strike adds coins or raises their values, and the follow-up can remove birds and coins.
When: ELK's sheet gives the Kraken coin game 3 drops, and landing coins, birds or symbols resets the counter. One review says the game opens when the grid is cleared under the Secret Door, and that a bird beside a 2x2 music box sets off the tentacle strike.
Result: One review says a cannon hit on the Kraken rains coins, and that a coin landing on a bird doubles that bird's win meter. No source we read lists a cost beyond the birds and coins removed, so the game's Help screen has the rest.

Ability: ELK's sheet makes the land crab the catacomb opponent in this world. One review says each of the four chests has a hidden square beside it, with a crab on it.
When: A bird collects a symbol on a catacomb corner, on ELK's sheet. One review calls these corners captain's cabins and says the corner must match the bird's colour.
Result: Win: a feature symbol, on ELK's sheet. One review adds that a loss removes the bird and returns it to its corner, that winning all four fights puts a coin on each former chest, and that a cannon shot destroying a chest counts as a won fight.

Ability: ELK's sheet makes the shaman the catacomb opponent in this world. No source we read gives the fight any other detail, so the game's Help screen has the rest.
When: A bird collects a symbol on a catacomb corner, on ELK's sheet.
Result: Win: a feature symbol, on ELK's sheet. No source we read says what a loss costs in this world, so check the game's Help screen.

Ability: ELK's sheet calls him the Mastermind of the 7 Seas and says he unleashes his minions when fighting the birds. One review describes an armoured parrot with gold epaulettes. No source we read gives him a separate attack of his own, so the game's Help screen has the rest.
When: He acts in the City of Gold coin game, which starts with 3 drops on ELK's sheet. No source we read says how often he attacks.
Result: ELK's sheet says the fights result in coin rains. One review says values can reach the MAX WIN coin, and it is unclear on whether only a won fight brings the rain. Read the game's Help screen before you count on either.

Ability: ELK's sheet says only that the Mastermind has two loyal lackeys and unleashes his minions on the birds, and ELK's City of Gold pack names this one. One review describes a flying henchman with a jetpack and goggles. No source we read gives him a separate ability, so the game's Help screen has the rest.
When: One review says he appears in the City of Gold coin game when the Mastermind attacks.
Result: ELK's sheet says the fights result in coin rains, and one review says a bird's win brings the rain. No source we read gives his own payout or what a lost fight costs.

Ability: ELK's sheet says only that the Mastermind has two loyal lackeys and unleashes his minions on the birds, and ELK's City of Gold pack names this one. One review describes a large caped wrestler decorated with stars. No source we read gives him a separate ability, so the game's Help screen has the rest.
When: One review says the Mastermind sends him forward as the second henchman during the City of Gold coin game.
Result: ELK's sheet says the fights result in coin rains, and one review says a bird's win brings the rain. No source we read gives his own payout or what a lost fight costs.
Bonus and Super Bonus drops
The bonus game is ELK's version of free spins, played as bonus drops. Collect three bonus symbols in one round for five drops; each one collected inside adds a drop. If one of the three is a super bonus symbol you get the Super Bonus, which adds a cursed treasure coin rain at the start of every drop.
What sets it apart is persistence. Gem levels, meter progress and grid size carry from drop to drop, and portals stay, so early upgrades pay on every later drop. Captain Blackfeather stays too, moving to a new spot each drop until he triggers. Wins are paid at the end, and the round stops if the 10,000x cap is reached.
Pirots 5 Bonus vs Super Bonus
| Bonus | Super Bonus | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | Three bonus symbols collected in one round | Same, with one of the three being a super bonus symbol |
| X-iter price | 100x bet | 250x bet |
| Bonus drops | 5, plus one for each bonus symbol collected inside | 5, plus one for each bonus symbol collected inside |
| Extra on each drop | None | One coin rain at the start of every drop |
| Carried between drops | Gem levels, meter, grid size, portals | Gem levels, meter, grid size, portals |
| Captain Blackfeather | Stays, moving each drop until he triggers | Stays, moving each drop until he triggers |

Pirots 5 X-iter prices
X-iter is the paid entry menu, open only in the base game, from €0.60 to €25,000 across the bet range. The in-game rules give Bonus Hunt more than 5 times the bonus chance; ELK's sheets say more than four, so read your loaded version. The 50x tile changes with the world.
Availability depends on the casino and jurisdiction, so check the game lobby. The rules file we read shows 96.0% RTP for all X-iter modes; check your version. A guaranteed entry guarantees the feature, not a return, and the price can be lost in full.
| Mode | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Hunt | 3x bet | One drop with a raised bonus chance |
| Mega Hunt | 10x bet | One drop with more than 20 times the bonus chance |
| Cursed Temple | 50x bet | Guaranteed coin game entry; other worlds show their own tile |
| Bonus | 100x bet | Guaranteed bonus entry |
| Super Bonus | 250x bet | Guaranteed Super Bonus entry, coin rain each drop |
Bonus Hunt: four times or five?. ELK's page and product sheets say more than four times the bonus chance. The rules copy we read says more than 5 times, and it is dated April 2026, before the wide release. We show both, so read the X-iter rules in your loaded version.

Play the demo
A Pirots 5 demo runs the same grid and features on play money. One third-party listing says its free version needs no registration and matches the real game, and ELK's own demo screenshot shows the X-iter menu. One review says its demo runs in world 2, so check which world you have.
Demo results do not predict real play, and a demo says nothing about your casino's RTP version. The rules do not say demo tokens count towards a real-money collection, so do not assume they do.
If it stalls, reload and check your connection, as third-party data lists it at 71.4 MB. It runs on HTML5 and one review describes a mobile-first design. A blank frame can mean blocked site data or a regional restriction.
Pirots 5 RTP and volatility
Pirots 5 RTP tops out at 96%, but there are several versions. ELK's sheets give 87.0 to 96.0% depending on market and operator, and third-party listings give configurations at 87, 90, 92, 94 and 96%. The rules file we read shows 96.0%, which says nothing about your casino's copy.
To check yours, load the game at that casino, open the menu, choose Rules and find the line starting 'The theoretical payout (RTP)'. The X-iter section has its own line.
ELK rates volatility 7 of 10; reviews say medium-high or high. ELK's sheets list a 25.1% hit frequency, repeated in a third-party listing, and tracker figures are only samples. On that figure about three rounds in four pay nothing, so a session can land far below the RTP, which is a long-run average.
Several RTP lists are in circulation. Some listings give 96% only, others 96, 94 and 92%, and others 87, 90, 92, 94 and 96%. We use ELK's range of 87.0 to 96.0% by market and operator. Your figure is the one on the loaded game's rules screen.
Medium, medium-high or high volatility?. All three labels appear online, sometimes on the same page. We use ELK's own rating of 7 of 10 from the product sheets.
Pirots 5 strengths and limits
What works
- Saved tokens give you a goal beyond one round.
- Persistent gem levels make the bonus build across drops.
- X-iter prices from 3x to 250x cover different budgets.
- Worlds change the coin game while the CollectR core stays.
What to watch
- RTP can be as low as 87%, so you must check your version.
- We could not confirm that token progress moves between casinos.
- Rounds with this many features are hard to follow at first.
Pirots 5 reviews from players in Ireland
Look at the RTP before you play
Mine shows 96% in the Help menu, the lobby a friend uses shows 94%. Same game. This page is the only one I found that told me to check. Blackfeather is a proper villain.
Verified playerTokens give you a reason to come back
Saving tokens towards the Boss Castle across sessions is new for the series. I am four tokens in and the Catacombs round is already my favourite part.
Verified playerTraps are unforgiving
An arrow trap took Hank out just as he reached the upgraded gems. Great design, painful result. I play at 20 cent until I know the Labyrinth layout better.
Verified playerThe Kraken world is brilliant
Tentacles pulling the grid about and the portals moving birds around. It is the most going on in any Pirots, and the Secret Door finally opened for me after a week.
Verified playerSuper Bonus at 250x is fairer
Half the price of the earlier parts. Tried it once at the minimum, so €50, and got the Cursed Temple coin game out of it. Would not do it often, but it felt like value.
Verified playerRuns well on a phone
A grid with portals, tunnels and a boss castle sounds like a mess on a small screen, but it is readable on my Pixel. Switcheroo swapping the birds is my favourite trap.
Verified playerThese reviews come from readers who sent us their notes on this part by email and through the mailing list that ran before the site opened. We show six at a time with a first name and a town, swap each photo for a generated portrait, and every rating received counts towards the score above.
Pirots 5 and its neighbours
- Super Bonus X-iter costs 250x bet, against 500x on Pirots 4 (both from ELK's game pages).
- A 10x Mega Hunt mode is added; it does not appear in one third-party X-iter list for Pirots 4.
- Top RTP is 96% with versions down to 87%, while a third-party listing gives 94% for Pirots 4.
- Nine saved tokens across three worlds unlock Boss Castle; a third-party Pirots 4 page shows no token system.
Our take on Pirots 5
Pirots 5 is a busy game, and the token system is what justifies it, because it gives the worlds a reason to exist. The core stays easy to learn: birds collect their colour and upgrades raise what those gems pay.
Our main caution is RTP. An 87% and a 96% version can look identical on screen, so read the rules before you stake anything. If yours shows the top figure and you enjoy busy rounds, it is worth trying. Otherwise, stick to the demo.
Pirots 5 questions answered
It is already out. The Pirots 5 release date for general availability was 23 July 2026, after an operator-exclusive window from June 2026. Sources disagree on that first day.
ELK's pages put the Super Bonus at 250x against 500x on Pirots 4. A 10x Mega Hunt is new, absent from one third-party list for Pirots 4, which also shows 94% RTP against a top of 96% here. Saved tokens and Boss Castle are new against that listing. Both are CollectR.
A bird collects tokens like other feature symbols, and they land on any spin. Each world stops giving them after three, so you must play all three worlds. Progress is saved across bet levels, rounds and modes. The rules do not say it moves between casinos, so do not assume it.
Only the loaded game can tell you. Open the menu, choose Rules and read the line starting 'The theoretical payout (RTP)'. ELK gives 87.0 to 96.0% depending on market and operator.
Yes. ELK's sheets list CollectR under paylines. Birds collect adjacent gems of their colour and all feature symbols, and there are no lines to hit.
Bonus Hunt 3x, Mega Hunt 10x, the world coin game 50x, Bonus 100x and Super Bonus 250x. The Hunt modes buy one drop with better odds, not guaranteed entry. Availability depends on the casino and jurisdiction.
ELK's sheets list a 25.1% hit frequency, and a third-party listing shows the same. It is a long-run figure, so it says little about a short session, and tracker numbers are only samples.
